IND U19 vs BAN U19: Bangladesh brought back the haunting memories of 2020 U19 World Cup final as they stunned defending champions Team India in the U19 Asia Cup semi-final on Friday, December 15 in Dubai.
After opting to field, the spirited young Bangladesh side reduced India to 61/6 when Murugan Abhishek (62) and Musheer Khan (50) stepped up. The duo sticked a crucial 84-run partnership and helped India put 188 on board. Maruf Mridha was the pick of the bowlers for the Bangladesh with four wickets.
In reply, despite losing 3 wickets early, Bangladesh never looked under pressure and chased down the target in 42.5 overs with 4 wickets in hand. Ariful Islam (94) and Ahrar Amin (44) were the stars for the young Tigers in the chase. The duo stiched an 138-run stand to diminsh India’s hopes of staging a comeback.
Bangldesh will now face hosts United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the U19 Asia Cup final on December 17.
