MS Dhoni has entered the last phase of his Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 preparations. The Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) has provided the latest update on the former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain. Dhoni has been training for what’s expected to be his last IPL season since September 2025.
MS Dhoni is training hard for IPL 2026
Dhoni has been visiting the JSCA International Stadium, which is about 10 kilometres away from his home in Ranchi, for the previous 5 months. The wicketkeeper batter, who has been dealing with knee injuries for the last couple of years, was spending 4 and a half hours at the facility.
Dhoni used to gym for an hour before hitting the nets for 2 hours. His primary focus was on power-hitting since he hadn’t played more than a handful of balls in the IPL for the last couple of seasons. After a few match simulations, Dhoni used to swim for 30 minutes before ending his training session.
In this latest update, Dhoni can be seen padding up for a net session. Former Indian cricketer and JSCA Secretary Saurabh Tiwary can be seen helping the IPL legend train. CSK might start their training camp soon, for those domestic players might not feature in the Ranji Trophy. Recently, the Punjab Kings also held a camp for their domestic players.
