Adi Birrell, head coach of the Sunrisers Leeds women’s team, had stated that no one refrained him from bidding on Pakistani players. Then, in the men’s Hundred auction, Sunrisers bought Pakistani leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed for INR 2.34 crore. The move didn’t sit well with many since Abrar had mocked India after Operation Sindoor.

Hardik Pandya has landed in legal trouble. After winning the T20 World Cup, the all-rounder celebrated while draping the Indian flag around his shoulders. This act has prompted a Pune-based lawyer to file a case against Pandya for insulting the national flag under section 2 of the 1971 National Flag Act.

No Hazlewood & Cummins in IPL 2026

Two weeks are left for IPL 2026 to begin, and RCB’s Josh Hazlewood hasn’t been granted fitness clearance by Cricket Australia. The pacer hasn’t played a game since November. SRH captain Pat Cummins is in the same boat. Meanwhile, Indian cricketers who were part of the T20 World Cup will join their teams by March 16.

Team India could tour Ireland for a short series when they travel to England in July. The Men in Blue could also play the postponed white-ball series in Bangladesh. Furthermore, India might play a series against Zimbabwe in September. Then there’s the Asian Games, which will coincide with the West Indies series.

The BCCI will host their annual NAMAN Awards on March 15. Shubman Gill is expected to be named the ‘Cricketer of the Year‘ after ending 2025 as the Indian batter with the most runs. Rahul Dravid will be felicitated with the Col. CK Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award. Furthermore, the Mumbai Cricket Association will be honoured as the best association.
