Suryakumar Yadav ended his 468-day half-century drought against New Zealand in Raipur. The Indian T20I captain had last registered a fifty in October 2025. But he was back to his best against the Kiwis, scoring an unbeaten 82 from 37 balls. This also helped India to record the fastest-ever 200+ chase involving full member nations.

Kohli pushed out?

In an exclusive conversation with InsideSport, Manoj Tiwary dropped a bombshell. The former Indian cricketers stated that Virat Kohli was forced to retire from Test cricket. Manoj claimed that Kohli didn’t want to leave the longest format, but due to the circumstances created, he had no choice but to hang up his boots.

Wicketkeeper conundrum for India

Former New Zealand cricketer Ian Smith was perplexed that Rishabh Pant wasn’t picked for the T20 World Cup. A few hours later, Sanju Samson, who was picked over Pant, failed in Raipur. And Ishan Kishan turned out to be the one who won the wicketkeeper battle, scoring 76 from 32 balls.

India should drop Harshit Rana

In the same conversation, Manoj Tiwary also talked about Harshit Rana. He doesn’t think that the pacer should be playing international cricket for India since he isn’t yet a finished product. He compared Harshit with Mohammed Shami, explaining that just because the youngster can bat a bit, the management shouldn’t view him as a frontline pacer.

Bangladesh’s final plea

Bangladesh is at risk of losing INR 240 crore, which is approximately 60 percent of their annual income, if they withdraw from the T20 World Cup. Knowing this, Bangladesh has sought intervention from the ICC’s independent Dispute Resolution Committee (DRC), asking them to reschedule their matches to Sri Lanka.

Who’ll buy RCB?

Adar Poonawalla, owner and chief executive officer of Serum Institute of India, has once again expressed interest in buying RCB. Poonawalla took to X (formerly Twitter) to inform that he’ll be bidding strongly for the reigning IPL champions. Diageo was looking to sell the franchise at $2 billion (approximately INR 17,775 crore).
