IPL 2026 schedule non-update

The BCCI might delay the start date of IPL 2026. The tournament was set to begin on March 26 but could be pushed back to the 28th. Due to state assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, Assam, Kerala, and West Bengal, the BCCI hasn’t announced the schedule for IPL 2026, and this delay is caused by the same reason.

Rinku Singh to rejoin Team India

Rinku Singh didn’t travel with Team India to Kolkata but instead travelled to Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, after his father passed away after a year-long battle with cancer. But Rinku has already left for Kolkata. After performing the last rites, Rinku will rejoin India’s squad for the must-win West Indies match.

Abhishek Sharma, not a slogger

Ravichandran Ashwin has taken offence that Mohammad Amir has labelled Abhishek Sharma as a ‘slogger’. The former Indian spinner believes that Abhishek has one of the best bat swings in all of cricket, even better than his mentor, Yuvraj Singh. Ashwin stated that a blind slogger can’t be that good technically, and just because he shows intent, he can’t be slandered.

DRS 5

Sanju Samson should open

Sanjay Manjrekar wants India to continue with Sanju Samson as their second opener. The former Indian cricketer pointed out how the opposition won’t be able to use off-spinners against India with Samson at the top. Which means the right-left combination will continue to reap rewards.

DRS 6

Matt Henry to leave for home

New Zealand fast bowler Matt Henry will leave for home for the birth of his second child. Henry has been the best bowler for the Kiwis in the T20 World Cup, taking 7 wickets in 6 innings. Just like Lockie Ferguson, Henry will return to play for New Zealand, provided the Kiwis qualify for the semifinals.
