BCCI’s plan hasn’t worked out. The board wanted Shubman Gill to take over as captain after the T20 World Cup. However, Gill has been dropped due to non-performance. Although the BCCI has to change its course, it remains adamant. They wish to move on from Suryakumar Yadav after the ICC event.

Abhishek Nayar has spoken about the failure of buying back Venkatesh Iyer. The KKR head coach revealed that they expected to get Venkatesh cheaply. Abhishek added that RCB and KKR have similar interests. They had bid for the all-rounder last year as well, but couldn’t get him. This time, RCB was successful.

Jaiswal deserved opener spot over Kishan

Wasim Jaffer thinks Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jitesh Sharma should’ve been picked ahead of Ishan Kishan and Washington Sundar. The former Punjab Kings head coach thinks Jaiswal deserved to get the backup opener spot after Shubman Gill wasn’t included. As for Washington, Jaffer thinks he won’t fit in, as India already has 3 spinners.

India has lost the Under-19 Men’s Asia Cup final. Pakistan’s opener Sameer Minhas played a match-winning knock of 172 from 113 to set India a target of 348. The Men in Blue succumbed to the scorecard pressure, with no batter even scoring 40 runs, and lost by 191 runs.

Pakistan’s chief selector, Aaqib Javed, has admitted that he’s learning from India’s success in T20I cricket ahead of the 2026 T20 World Cup. The Men in Blue are the world’s best team in the short format and have lost just 5 matches since winning the 2024 edition of the T20 World Cup.

Ashwin’s CSK XI

Ashwin has named his best CSK playing XI for the IPL 2026 season. The former IPL player picked Ayush Mhatre and Sanju Samson as the openers with Ruturaj Gaikwad at three. Ashwin slotted Shivam Dube at four, Prashant Veer at six, and MS Dhoni at seven.
