Drama unfolds as Ravindra Jadeja declines to shake hands with Ben Stokes for draw
IND vs ENG: While batting in their 80s, Ravindra jadeja and Washington Sundar declined a draw call from Ben Stokes.

At the start of day 5, if someone told Team India, that England would offer them a draw.. no one would have believed them. But what unfolded on Sunday, is just beyond anyone’s imagination. Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar were offered a draw by England skipper Ben Stokes, but the batters in the middle, refused.

Ravindra Jadeja Makes Mockery of England

That is because, both Jadeja and Sundar were in their 80s, and were closing in on their tons. The visitors were well within their rights to decline the offer, but that didn’t go well with Stokes. In fact, Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett and Stokes couldn’t swallow the bitter pill, and together had a go at Jadeja.

But the batter kept his calm, and that only added to the opposition’s frustration. What came as a bigger surprise is, post that, after match started again, England just bowled in a way, where they wanted Jadeja and Washi to get to their tons, as soon as possible. The stump mic also caught Ben Stokes say, “You’re gonna get a Test hundred against Harry Brook?”

Interestingly, Brook, who was handed the ball, just kept tossing the ball at the batters, giving a signal, that they weren’t interested. Eventually Jadeja did get to his fifth ton. And just a few deliveries after that, Washington Sundar also got to his maiden ton. Not to mention, the duo added 200 runs together.
