Mr. ICC has given his verdict. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will be at their best again soon. Shikhar Dhawan, their former teammate, with whom they won the 2013 edition of the ICC Champions Trophy, has backed the senior batting stars to come good soon.
Dhawan backs Virat Kohli & Rohit Sharma to come good
On February 20, the India cricket team will take on Bangladesh at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The Men in Blue are touted as the favourites to win the 2025 Champions Trophy. But that might not happen if both Rohit Sharma and Kohli, who aren’t in the best of forms currently, don’t stand up.
They have three ODI matches against England as preparation. Dhawan feels he’ll be back in no time. In every cricketer’s career, there is a slump. They are in a lull and will soon come out of it and dominate. Having seen them from close quarters, the southpaw opener is confident in their ability to rise back again.
“Virat and Rohit are both world-class players. They’re legends of the game at this point in their careers, and I have complete confidence in their abilities. Every player goes through rough patches, but that doesn’t define them. A couple of bad performances here and there won’t change what they’re capable of. We all know what Rohit and Virat can do—they’ve proven it time and again. I have no doubt they’ll bounce back stronger and continue to deliver for the team,” Dhawan told the Times of India.
