Ben Stokes’ England rope in ‘Mental skills coach’ mid-way in Anderson-Tendulkar Test series

Ben Stokes' England rope in 'Mental skills coach' mid-way in Anderson-Tendulkar Test series

There's a growing influence of New Zealanders in the England cricket team. Ben Stokes, Brendon McCullum and now Gilbert Enoka.

England has looked to a surprising source for assistance during their exciting Test series against India. Not in the playing XI, but in their minds. While the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy is still going on, Gilbert Enoka, the famous mental skills coach who helped make the All Blacks into a sports dynasty, has quietly joined England’s support staff.

Enoka’s arrival in the England camp, confirmed by The Telegraph, comes at a crucial point. With England leading the five-Test series 2-1 after the Lord’s Test, McCullum has made a sharp move. The veteran mindset specialist is no stranger to high-stakes environments, having worked with the All Blacks for over two decades, including during their back-to-back Rugby World Cup wins in 2011 and 2015.
