After Mushfiqur Rahim, another Bangladesh star retires after Champions Trophy

There is a lot happening in Bangladesh cricket currently. After Mushfiqur Rahim said goodbye to ODI cricket, it is now Mahmudullah who has decided to retire from international cricket.

Not long ago, we saw Bangladesh’s legendary batter Mushfiqur Rahim call time on his ODI career, and now, there is even bigger news. Veteran Bangladesh all-rounder Mahmudullah has announced his retirement from international cricket after playing 50 Tests, 239 ODIs, and 141 T20Is for Bangladesh.

For Bangladesh, he always stepped up and scored plenty of runs, especially in the 50-over format. In 239 ODIs, Mahmudullah made 5,689 runs at an average of 36.46, including four centuries and 32 fifties. He is the fourth-highest run-scorer for Bangladesh in ODIs.

Mahmudullah’s emotional retirement post

Mahmudullah shared an emotional post on Facebook, where he thanked all his supporters and expressed gratitude to God for his success.

“All praises only for the Almighty Allah. I have decided to retire from international cricket. I would like to thank all of my teammates, coaches, and especially my fans who have always supported me. A big thank you to my parents, my in-laws, especially my father-in-law, and most importantly, my brother Emdad Ullah, who has been there for me constantly since my childhood as my coach and mentor.”
