The India cricket team batter has reached the highest-ever rating on the Men’s T20I batter’s rankings, shattering a five-year-old record held by England’s Dawid Malan previously. The southpaw reached the highest ratings following his half-century against Sri Lanka in India’s final Super Fours game in the Asia Cup 2025.
Abhishek creates new record
Abhishek now has 931 rating points, and has gone past previous record holder Malan (919 points). He has also overtaken seniors like Virat Kohli and captain Suryakumar Yadav on the list.

The fiery Indian opener finished as the leading run-getter of the tournament in the recently concluded Asia Cup 2025. He amassed 314 runs from 7 matches at an average of 44.85. He scored three fifties and struck 32 fours and 19 sixes in the tourney. Sharma witnessed a rare failure against Pakistan in the Asia Cup final where he was dismissed for a single digit score.
He now leads England’s Phil Salt in second place by a total of 82 rating points, while India teammate Tilak Varma remains in third place on the batter rankings after his 213 runs at the Asia Cup.
Hardik Pandya dethroned
Pakistan all-rounder Saim Ayub has replaced Hardik Pandya as the new number 1 all-rounder in T20Is. Despite failing miserably with the bat, the Pakistan star was one of the standout performers with the ball for Pakistan, finishing the tournament with 8 wickets to his name. Pandya is now ranked 2nd.
Meanwhile, Varun Chakravarthy remains the number 1 ranked bowler in T20Is. Kuldeep Yadav has moved up nine spots to 12th on the rankings.
