India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka are sending their 'A' teams for the tournament.

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has announced the schedule for the second edition of the Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars. The tournament was initially set to be played in Sri Lanka in June 2025. But it was postponed due to ‘adverse weather conditions’ and ‘health concerns owing to chikungunya disease’.

“The ACC is committed to providing opportunities for young women cricketers to develop their skills and compete at the highest level. We understand the strategic significance of this tournament in shaping the future of women’s cricket in Asia, and we will work diligently to reschedule the event at the earliest possible date,” ACC chief Mohsin Naqvi had said.

Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars moved out of Sri Lanka

Due to the Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, which is being co-hosted by Sri Lanka, the ACC has been forced to move the Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars to Bangkok, Thailand. As expected, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka are sending their ‘A’ teams, while Nepal, the UAE, Malaysia, and hosts Thailand will play their full-strength sides.

India ‘A’, Pakistan ‘A’, UAE, and Nepal have been placed in Group A. The India vs Pakistan match is on February 15, the same day as the Men’s T20 World Cup match between the two teams in Colombo. Bangladesh ‘A’, Sri Lanka ‘A’, Malaysia, and Thailand are in Group B.

ACC has announced the venues for the tournament, but the Asian Institute of Technology Ground and the Terdthai Cricket Ground are the only two cricket stadiums in Bangkok.
