10th class boy breaks Sourav Ganguly's record, becomes youngest to debut for Bengal in Ranji Trophy

A 10th-grade boy, Ankit Chatterjee, has started his cricket career at a very young age. He has broken Sourav Ganguly's record in the Ranji Trophy.

A 10th-grade student, Ankit Chatterjee, has etched his name in the record books. He broke the record of legendary Indian captain Sourav Ganguly and became the youngest player to debut for the Bengal team in the Ranji Trophy. Chatterjee made his debut against Haryana at the age of 15 years and 361 days.

Sourav Ganguly made his first-class debut for Bengal during the 1989–90 Ranji Trophy final. At just 17 years old, he played the match at Eden Gardens against Delhi.

Ankit Chatterjee, a 10th-grade student pursuing his passion for cricket, is a right-handed batter representing Bengal. He made his debut in the Ranji Trophy 2025.
