The era of Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is officially coming to a close. Activision has announced the final phase of the game’s sunsetting process, confirming that the servers will go offline on April 17, 2026. Check out the more information on COD Warzone Mobile Servers.
This move marks the end of a nearly two-year journey for the title, which aimed to bring the high-octane battle royale experience of Verdansk and Rebirth Island to the palm of your hand.
The Road to the Final Shutdown of COD Warzone Mobile
The decision to pull the plug follows a series of service changes that began nearly a year ago. In May 2025, Activision removed COD Warzone Mobile from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, effectively halting new downloads. At that time, the developer also disabled in-app purchases with real currency and ended the release of new seasonal content and gameplay updates.
While the game remained playable for those who kept it installed, the upcoming April 2026 date represents the definitive end. After this point, the game will no longer be accessible in any capacity.
Why Is COD Warzone Mobile Closing?
Despite the technical achievement of bringing the “IW 9” engine to mobile devices with cross-progression, Activision noted that the title did not resonate with mobile-first audiences in the same way it did on PC and consoles.
In a statement, the company expressed gratitude to the community but acknowledged that the game “did not meet expectations.” This stands in stark contrast to the enduring success of Call of Duty: Mobile, which continues to see massive engagement and regular content updates.
What Happens to Your Content and Progression?
For players concerned about their hard-earned gear, there is a silver lining. Because Warzone Mobile featured shared progression, most items—such as Weapon Blueprints and Operator Skins—that were part of the cross-title ecosystem will remain available in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and the PC/Console version of Warzone.
However, some specific details apply:
- COD Points: Any remaining COD Points in Warzone Mobile can still be spent on currently available in-game store items until the April 17 deadline. These points are tied to your Activision account and may be accessible in other supported Call of Duty titles.
- Guest Accounts: Players using Guest Accounts are encouraged to link their progress to an Activision Account immediately. Once the servers go dark, data stored locally on guest accounts will be permanently lost.
Looking Ahead: The Shift to Call of Duty: Mobile
Activision is encouraging the mobile community to transition to Call of Duty: Mobile (CODM). As part of this transition, the publisher previously offered incentives for players to move their Activision accounts over to CODM, which remains the flagship mobile experience for the franchise.
As the countdown to April 17, 2026, begins, fans have a final two-month window to drop into Verdansk one last time and say their goodbyes to this chapter of mobile gaming history.
