BGIS 2026 Quarter Finals: Group A Re-matches Confirmed After Seeding Blunder. Krafton Issues Official Correction.

The operational turbulence surrounding the BGIS 2026 Quarter Finals has reached a resolution. Following a day of confusion and community outcry regarding improper team seeding in Group A, Krafton India Esports has released an official statement to rectify the situation.

BGIS 2026 Quarter Finals: Group A Re-matches Confirmed

The “BTD mistake” is being wiped clean, as the tournament organizer prepares to reset the board for Group A.

The Official Fix: 7ACESxTRB ESPORTS Promoted

According to the official notice, the vacancy left by the disqualified Team Avanza (who finished 6th in Group 6) will now be filled by the next eligible team from that specific group’s standings.

  • The Replacement: 7ACESxTRB ESPORTS, who finished in 8th position in Group 6, has been officially advanced to the Quarter Finals.
  • The Rationale: Since the top 7 teams from each group qualify, the disqualification of a top-7 team (Avanza) logically pushes the 8th-place finisher from that same pool into the qualifying zone.

Total Reset for Group A

Krafton has acknowledged the seeding error that occurred during today’s broadcast. To ensure competitive integrity, the following actions are being taken:

  • Match Annulment: All three matches played for Group A today are effectively nullified.
  • The Re-host: These three matches will be re-hosted and replayed in their entirety.
  • The Lobby: The new lobby will include 7ACESxTRB ESPORTS, replacing the incorrectly seeded team (BTD) that participated in today’s games.

A “Sincere Apology”

In their statement, Krafton India expressed regret for the situation, stating, “We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding”.

While the “wrong team” drama caused a stir among fans and analysts—who pointed out the absurdity of BTD appearing in the QF lobby—the swift move to re-host shows a commitment to the tournament’s official rulebook over logistical convenience.
