When the press conference ended, Aaron Finch, the captain of the Australian team, walked in carrying a birthday cake for the Pakistan captain. The pictures and videos of the birthday celebration are now going viral on social media.

Rohit Sharma and Babar Azam were among the 16 captains who addressed the mega press conference on Saturday before the kick-off of the tournament in Australia.

“Pakistan have always created fast bowlers. Our fast bowling lot is strong. Shaheen will make it stronger. We have played different combinations and they have all performed. Haris has improved at death. It’s our opporutnity to show skills and different combination of players. When you play India, it’s a high intensity game. Fans also wait for it. We enjoy it on the field. We tried to play good cricket,” Babar Azam said during the press conference.

Rohit Sharma on Bumrah’s injury, Suryakumar’s form

“As far as Bumrah is concerned, he has done well for us. You can’t do anything about injuries. We talked to specialists. The World Cup is important, but his career is more important. He is 27-28, we can’t take risks. He has a lot of cricket left in him. We will miss him,” Rohit Sharma said during the press conference.

“Surya is in good form. I hope he continues to bat in that fashion. He is a confident player. He plays fearlessly, he uses his skill set efficiently. I hope he becomes the x-factor,” he added.

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 is all set to kick off with the qualifying stage on Sunday, October 16. India will square off against archrivals Pakistan in their tournament opener on October 23.
