The athlete has been relying upon YouTube videos for the mental aspects of training so far. He now wants to hire a mental conditioning coach to assist him ahead of the Olympics.

“To win an Olympic medal, I need a complete package. I had a physio but I did the mental conditioning part through video when I was in Colorado Springs. I need mental conditioning and support staff to deal with the mental aspect,” Sable told PTI.

He has so far been taking lessons on Yoga, meditation and breathing exercises through YouTube videos. “Many people told me to do Yoga, meditation and breathing exercises. I have not done these before. But I did these during Asian Games by watching YouTube. I found it beneficial,” he added.

It was indeed super beneficial as Sable won two medals at the Asian Games. In the 3000m Steeplechase, he finished first in the race with an impressive timing of 8 minutes and 19.50 seconds and set the Games record in the process. Meanwhile he also won the silver medal in the 5000m. He will however be in action only in the Steeplechase at the Paris Olympics.
