With this medal, India’s tally rises to 35. It is also the second medal in Tennis as Ramkumar Ramanathan and Saketh Myneni earlier won the silver in the Men’s Doubles at Hangzhou.

The Indian started slowly as they were outplayed by the Chinese Taipei duo in the first set. The Indians however made a stunning comeback to seal the second set. They went on to dominate in the tie-break and Rutuja Bhosle sealed the match with a terrific ace down the line.

This is Bopanna’s second successive Asian Games gold medal. At Jakarta in 2018, he won the Men’s Doubles gold. Bhosale meanwhile has made it to the podium for the first-time in Asiad.
