Rajasthan Royals (RR) scripted a superb win over the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Ekana Stadium on Wednesday night. While Ravindra Jadeja won the Player of the Match for his all-round show, two overseas pacers in Nandre Burger and Jofra Archer set up the win by mauling the LSG batters up top. However, the left-arm seamer, who took 1/15 in the powerplay, has received an unwanted news, with him being found guilty of a Level 1 offence.
Nandre Burger punished by IPL
Burger, who took the prized wicket of Rishabh Pant in the LSG vs RR game, seemed to have over-celebrated. In doing so, he has been charged with a fine of 10 per cent of his match fees. Meanwhile, he has also accumulated one demerit point for breaching IPL’s code of conduct.
Burger has been admitted to Level 1 offence, which pertains to using language, actions or gestures that can provoke an angry or aggressive reaction from an opponent. The South African pacer accepted the sanction after the match.
