Lionel Messi and Selena Gomez have joined forces for a worthy cause. The Argentine player’s autographed Argentina jersey has been donated to the Rare Impact Fund Charity. The event provides cash to give mental health access and education to young people worldwide.

The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner has agreed to sell one of his World Cup jerseys from 2022. Messi led Argentina to victory in that tournament in Qatar, completing a historic medal haul and cementing his place among the all-time greats.

The jersey has been donated to the Rare Impact Fund. The proceeds from its sale will be used to fund mental health access and education for young people throughout the world. On Wednesday, Gomez will hold a fund-raising event called “A Night of Radiance and Reflection.”

However, there are rumours that Messi will be present. The Barcelona legend’s humanitarian move occurred after Gomez sat in the stands on September 3 as Messi’s Inter Miami defeated Los Angeles FC 3-1 in an MLS match.

The shirt that Messi has put offered had a starting price of $1,000. Unsurprisingly, demand in the highly sought-after piece of memorabilia grew quickly, and it is now selling for $6,000. The land in question is deemed “priceless,” hence the price is projected to soar even more.

On the pitch, the 36-year-old attacker has struggled with fitness since returning from international duty in mid-September. He has not appeared in either of Inter Miami’s past three matches in any tournament. Coach Gerardo Martino stated that the team will evaluate its superstar player before the club’s next MLS encounter on October 4 against the Chicago Fire.
