IND vs WI LIVE: Shreyas Iyer LORDS over West Indies in perfect No.3 audition in Virat Kohli’s absence, slams 7th fifty in 8 innings – Watch Highlights
Shreyas Iyer scored his third consecutive half-century against the West Indies in a fine innings on Sunday at the Port of Spain. Vice-captain for the first two games, Iyer followed up his 54 from the last game with a 63 in the second ODI to keep India in the hunt.

The Men In Blue were in a spot of bother having been reduced to 79/3, but Iyer held his nerve and stitched a fine partnership with Sanju Samson to put India on course. The 26-year-old took his time initially before peppering the gaps, lacing his innings with four boundaries and a six.
What was particularly impressive was how Shreyas dealt with the short ball threat having been troubled with bouncers lately in his career. Iyer paid no heed to the short-pitched bowling, keeping his calm and letting the delivery go, making most of the fuller length deliveries on offer.
2nd consecutive half century for @ShreyasIyer15 and a well deserved one.🤩🏏

IND vs WI LIVE: Shreyas Iyer LORDS over West Indies in perfect No.3 audition in Virat Kohli’s absence, slams 7th fifty in 8 innings – Watch Highlights
Shreyas Iyer’s return to form is a good positive for Team India, especially with the tournaments like Asia Cup and the T20 World Cup around the corner. Iyer has been a perfect foil in the middle for India and has made the No.3 spot his own in Virat Kohli’s absence. With Kohli on a break and struggling to get runs under his belt, Shreyas has held his hand up to take over and Rahul Dravid will have a few tough decisions to make in the coming months.
