Ghana was one of the final stops on IShowSpeed’s tour, and his visit created huge excitement both online and on the streets. After the visit, Ghana’s Foreign Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa announced that his office had approved a Ghanaian passport for the YouTuber, describing him as a “worthy ambassador.”
The minister explained that the decision followed confirmation of IShowSpeed’s strong ties to Ghana. During a live stream in the country, the YouTuber told fans that his mother is Ghanaian, strengthening his connection to the West African nation.
While in Ghana, IShowSpeed visited popular cultural sites and took part in a traditional naming ceremony in the Eastern Region. Dressed in Ghana’s famous kente cloth, he was given the traditional name Barima Kofi Akuffo. He also said he felt like he was “back home” during his stay.

In another major revelation, IShowSpeed disclosed that one of the homes he is buying in Africa will be in Ghana. He said he waited until the end of his tour to share the news. According to him, his Ghanaian bodyguard Rudi convinced him that Ghana would be the perfect getaway, praising its peaceful environment and beautiful scenery outside the city.
Public reaction in Ghana has been mixed. Many citizens welcomed the move, seeing it as positive global exposure for the country, while others questioned whether granting passports to celebrities could reduce their value.
