The digital “E3 replacement” is officially coming back. Geoff Keighley has announced that Summer Game Fest (SGF) 2026 will take place from June 5 to June 8, bringing a packed weekend of world premieres, developer showcases, and hands-on previews to the gaming community.
Summer Game Fest 2026: A New Stage in Los Angeles
This year’s event marks a significant shift in geography. While previous shows centered around the YouTube Theater in Inglewood, SGF 2026 is moving to the iconic Dolby Theatre in the heart of Hollywood. This venue change is largely due to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will see neighboring So-Fi Stadium hosting matches just a week after the event.
The main showcase kicks off on Friday, June 5, at 2 PM PT / 5 PM ET. Fans can expect roughly two hours of rapid-fire trailers, celebrity cameos, and “one more thing” moments.

The Full Weekend Lineup
The festivities aren’t limited to a single livestream. The schedule covers a variety of industry angles:
- Live Kickoff (June 5): The marquee event featuring AAA reveals and world premieres.
- Day of the Devs (June 5-6): A non-profit spotlight on the most creative and magical indie titles.
- SGF: Play Days (June 6-8): An invite-only, hands-on event in downtown Los Angeles where press and creators get early access to the summer’s biggest hits.
- The Game Business Live (June 8): A B2B summit focusing on the industry’s evolving landscape and strategic challenges.
What to Expect
While specific titles are still under wraps, rumors are already swirling about updates on long-awaited projects like Hollow Knight: Silksong and potential glimpses at next-gen hardware capabilities. Public tickets for the live show at the Dolby Theatre will go on sale this Spring, while the rest of the world can tune in via YouTube, Twitch, TikTok, and X.
As the industry continues to move away from traditional trade shows, Summer Game Fest remains the premier mid-year destination for fans to see “what’s next” in gaming.
