The arrival of Dusk Mane Necrozma and Dawn Wings Necrozma in Pokémon GO has unveiled two new Adventure Effects! Adventure Effects are powerful Pokémon attacks that can be activated outside of battles to grant temporary bonus effects to enhance your Pokémon GO journey. These effects can now be triggered when Dusk Mane Necrozma uses Sunsteel Strike and Dawn Wings Necrozma uses Moongeist Beam.
Pokémon GO Adventure Effect: Sunsteel Strike
When Necrozma fuses with Solgaleo to become Dusk Mane Necrozma, it learns the Charged Attack Sunsteel Strike.* Trainers can activate Sunsteel Strike’s Adventure Effect by using 3,000 Stardust and 3 Necrozma Candy. This harnesses the power of sunlight for 10 minutes, attracting Pokémon that typically appear during the daytime to your location, similar to the effect of Incense. Pokémon that only evolve during the daytime will also be able to evolve at any time while this Adventure Effect is active.
Possible Pokémon encounters include:
- Pidgey
- Alolan Exeggutor
- Solrock
- Cottonee
- Helioptile
- Tyrunt
- Yungoos
- Rockruff
- Fomantis
You may even encounter Rockruff that can evolve into Dusk Form Lycanroc—if you’re lucky! You can extend the timer for Sunsteel Strike’s Adventure Effect in 10-minute increments by using more Stardust and Necrozma Candy, up to two hours at a time, with a maximum of 24 hours total.
Note: Sunsteel Strike cannot be active simultaneously with another Adventure Effect, Incense, Daily Adventure Incense, the Mystery Box, or the Coin Bag.

Pokémon that only evolve during the nighttime will also be able to evolve at any time while this Adventure Effect is active.
