HoYoverse has officially announced that the pre-download function for Genshin Impact Version 6.4, titled “Luna V: Song of the Welkin Moon,” is now available. This update marks a historic moment for the game as it finally introduces one of the most anticipated characters since the Mondstadt era: the Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius, Varka.
Genshin Impact Version 6.4 Pre-Download – Faster Access to the New Adventure
The pre-download feature allows players on PC and Mobile to download the bulk of the update’s resources ahead of time. By doing this, you can jump straight into the new content as soon as the maintenance concludes on February 25, 2026.

To update on mobile, simply tap the “Pre-Install Resource Package” icon on the login screen. PC users can click the “Game Pre-Installation” button next to the “Launch” button on the HoYoPlay launcher.
Banners and New Characters
The Version 6.4 Phase I Event Wishes are stacked with powerhouse units. The highlight is undoubtedly “Knight of Boreas” Varka (5-Star Anemo), making his debut in the “The Northerly Wind’s Song of Triumph” banner. Joining him in a parallel banner is the mysterious new Electro 5-star, Flins, in “The Lone Light Knocks at Night.”
The 4-star boosted characters for both banners include the “National Team” staples Bennett and Xiangling, alongside the Anemo support Sucrose, making this an incredibly high-value banner for both new and veteran players.
The Return of Chronicled Wish
For those looking to fill gaps in their collection, the Chronicled Wish: “Ode to the Dawn Breeze” returns. This special banner features Mondstadt legends like Eula, Albedo, and Klee, as well as signature weapons like Song of Broken Pines. It’s the perfect opportunity to grab older limited characters that haven’t seen a rerun in a while.
Genshin Impact Version 6.4 – Maintenance Rewards
Maintenance is scheduled to begin on February 25 at 06:00 (UTC+8) and is expected to last five hours. As a token of appreciation, all Travelers at Adventure Rank 5 or above will receive 300 Primogems (60 per hour of downtime).
