FIFA WC SWITZERLAND TEAM: The team that stunned the world champions France in the Round of 16 fixture in the Euro 2020, Switzerland proved their mettle in that tournament as they knocked out the contenders.

That game showed that this is a team that can bite you back on their day and a team to be wary of. With the way they’ve been playing over the course of the last 2 years, you would expect them to have a strong outing this time around.

FIFA WC SWITZERLAND SQUAD: After making it to the Round of 16 at the FIFA World Cup in Russia, they took it up a notch and made their way to the Quarterfinals at the Euro 2020. In the Round of 16, they knocked out France and in the next stage of the tournament, they took Spain all the way to penalties and gave it their all but this time, they were knocked out.

Even in the World Cup Qualifiers, they flexed their muscles hard in a group that had the eventual winners of the Euro 2020 tournament and they remained undefeated in their 8 games as they ended up winning 5 matches.

They gave Italy a run for their money and also ended up finishing first in the group, which meant Italy had to go through the knockout phase of Qualifying. Their displays were also really good as they ended up scoring 15 goals and only gave away 2 to the opposition, which shows that they were in control all around the park.

SWITZERLAND TEAM NEWS: The Swiss team is likely to be deployed in a 4-2-3-1 formation. Even though they have been playing this strongly for a while now, they aren’t a team that likes to hold onto possession.

They tend to take a lot of shots from outside the box, rather than passing the ball around and waiting for an opening. The one tactic that they live by is the long ball as that is used often for them when they want to progress up the pitch.

Their fullbacks are also good at the same and they are tasked with the responsibility of heading up their flank and sending in delicious crosses. Granit Xhaka has been in sublime form for Arsenal this season and his defensive output will be important for the Swiss team.

SWITZERLAND Team INJURY LIST: No injury problems for the Swiss at this point in time.

FIFA WC SWITZERLAND GROUP NEWS: Switzerland shares Group G with Brazil, Serbia, and Cameroon in the 2022 WC in Qatar this time. They should be the 2nd placed team in this group if they bring their A-game to Qatar this time.

FIFA WC SWITZERLAND Matches & Schedule: Switzerland will play their first game of the World Cup against Cameroon on the 24th of November, followed by Brazil on the 28th and their final game of the group stage will be versus Serbia on the 3rd of December.
