Kolkata giants East Bengal has bolstered their squad ahead of the Kolkata Derby. Before the much anticipated Mohun Bagan vs East Bengal clash in the Indian Super League, the Red and Gold brigade has signed Venezuela’s Richard Celis. The 28-year-old left winger will be a replacement for the injured Madih Talal.
It remains to be seen if the player will feature in the Kolkata Derby or not. The will be hoping their new player travels to Kolkata soon. The foreigner has signed a short-term contract with the Kolkata giants to stay till the end of the current season.

The ace striker has played for his national team 4 times since making his debut in 2021. He has played in a FIFA World Cup qualifier against Uruguay and in the Copa America opening clash in 2021.

As far as the Indian Super League (ISL) is concerned, East Bengal is currently placed 11th in the standings with 14 points from 14 matches. The side lost 3-2 to Mumbai City FC the other day. And in their next clash, they will take on arch-rivals Mohun Bagan in the Kolkata Derby on 11th January.
