Pakistan’s veteran batter, Babar Azam also finds himself in the list of youngest players to register 50-plus score at U19 CWC. Azam, who now plays for the national side, etched this feat in the 2010 U19 CWC in Pakistan’s match against West Indies when he was aged 15 years and 92 days.

Until Saturday, the record of youngest player to register a 50-plus score at the U19 CWC remained by Afghanistan’s Shahidullah Kamal, who etched this feat in the 2014 edition in the side’s match against West Indies. Kamal was 15 years and 19 days old when he broke into the record books, breaking the record previously held by Babar Azam.

On Saturday, January 17, the teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi added another feat to his cap as he became the youngest batter to register a 50-plus score at the ICC U19 CWC, aged 14 years and 296 days. Walking out to bat in India’s match against Bangladesh, the 14-year-old reached his half-century off 30 deliveries.
