After a bit of a break, the Indian team will be back in action in a few day’s time, when the Asia Cup 2025 starts in September. And to get started, a host of high-profile players will line up at the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, for their respective fitness tests. As per a report in RevSportz, ODI skipper Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul are all set to undergo the Yo-yo test between August 30-31.
Rohit Sharma Likely to Play IND A Series, After Proving Fitness
But then, there is still no clarity, as to when Virat Kohli be available for his fitness test. Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma, who had last played international cricket in the Champions Trophy, might just be a part of the IND A vs AUS A series, that commences on September 30, and concludes on October 5. Post that, the IND vs AUS ODI series will be played from October 19.
No Clarity on Virat Kohli’s Schedule
There were major speculations about Rohit and Virat’s ODI future, but those could be put to rest soon. In fact, them playing in the upcoming series could just be a signal, that they are aiming for the 2027 World Cup. But before that, the Asia Cup is what would be on Team India’s priority list.
Recently, the T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav also got the fitness clearance from the CoE, after spending 5-6 weeks in rehab there. Prior to him, it was reported that Hardik Pandya too spent some time there. These fitness tests would ready the players for the fully-marked calendar.
