WPL 2026 matches in Navi Mumbai on January 14, 15 and 16 likely to be played behind closed doors

Women’s Premier League (WPL 2026) matches scheduled to take place on January 14, 15 and 16 at the DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai are likely to be played behind closed doors. As per reports, the police has informed the BCCI that security cannot be provided for the games on those dates due to the municipal corporation elections which is set to take place on January 15. The report states that is not final if matches on all three days will be played without the presence of fans, as the BCCI is yet to confirm the development.

WPL 2026 games to be played without fans this week?

As per ESPNCricinfo, the police have informed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) that adequate security arrangements cannot be provided for the game on January 15 as the WPL game will clash with the municipal corporation elections. The report states that WPL’s official online ticket platform has not listed tickets for the games on January 14, 15 and 16. If this development is confirmed, then DC vs UPW on January 14, Mi vs UPW on January 15 and GG vs RCB on January 16 will be played behind closed doors.
