With average of 5.60, Suryakumar Yadav knows he's out of form, says "thoda time lagega..."

Suryakumar Yadav will feature in Mumbai's Ranji Trophy quarterfinal clash against Haryana.

The Indian T20I captain, Suryakumar Yadav, knows he’s out of form. The flamboyant batter, who ruled all the batting charts ever since he made his debut, has dwindled down massively. While his captaincy hasn’t been a concern, Suryakumar’s bat has just stopped making runs. But the silver lining is that he duly knows this fact.

What did Suryakumar Yadav say about his form?

Suryakumar Yadav joined Mumbai’s state team ahead of the ever-so-important Ranji Trophy quarterfinal clash against an in-form Haryana side. The match, which was initially supposed to be hosted in Lahli, was moved to the iconic Eden Gardens.

SKY practiced for more than an hour before obliging to take selfies with fans. During the interaction, Suryakumar acknowledged the fact that his runs have dried up. “Aa jayenge form mein… Time lagega thoda (Will return to form… Will take just a bit of time),” he said after Mumbai’s training session as per Telegraph India.

Latest on Cricket

Suryakumar Yadav led India to an emphatic 4-1 bilateral series win against India recently. However, he didn’t contribute anything with the bat. In fact, Suryakumar managed to make just 28 runs at a horrible average of 5.60. He was trying to play according to the new template of the Indian T20 team—going gaga from ball one. Suryakumar is definitely a specialist in the format but a lull period arrives in everyone’s career. Now, his focus is on red-ball cricket, a format he loves playing as well. Indian fans would hope that a noteworthy performance in Ranji amps up his confidence to do well in India colours as well.

Suryakumar Yadav’s Last 10 T20I Innings

Starting with the Sri Lanka series, Suryakumar Yadav has managed just one fifty-plus score since becoming the full-time T20I captain of India. While his captaincy record has been impressive, his personal batting form has been a concern. He has scored 258 runs in his last 14 innings with an average of 18.4.
