Ever since Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma played earlier in the tournament, the Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT) 2025/26 has found its spotlight again. Now, we have come so far that only one group game remains, and the race for the top two spots has reached boiling point. The BCCI’s directive for all available international players to feature has ensured that Round 7 carries serious star power, including Sanju Samson, Suryakumar Yadav and Shreyas Iyer.
Although Kohli was initially expected to play on January 6, he has opted out to prepare for the upcoming India vs New Zealand ODI series. So has Rohit Sharma. Still, the absence of them has hardly dented the excitement. However, a few players part of India’s ODI team, including captain Shubman Gill have left for Vadodara to prepare for the first ODI scheduled on January 11.
It remains to be seen if KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, Arshdeep Singh, and Kuldeep Yadav play this round. The likes of Sanju Samson, Rajat Patidar, Tilak Varma and Rishabh Pant will certainly turn up.
