We are into the second last match of the Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT), with only three teams remaining in the tournament. After an exciting round of the quarter-finals and the first semi-final, it is time for the second semi-final. Vidarbha won the first semi-final yesterday to confirm their berth in the Vijay Hazare Trophy final by beating Karnataka.

Punjab won’t have the big guns like Abhishek Sharma and Arshdeep Singh. While Abhishek is preparing for the India vs New Zealand T20Is, Arshdeep is already part of the ongoing ODI series. Hence, Prabhsimran Singh will lead the side, like he did in the quarter-final against Madhya Pradesh as well. Veteran Anmolpreet Singh has been in terrific touch for Punjab, racking up 427 runs at 71.16. Naman Dhir and Nehal Wadhera are two well-known names in the Punjab side as well.

As for Saurashtra, they always play like a unit. They may not have huge superstars but the team gels so much well together. They have two batters in the top 11 run-getters, with captain Harvik Desai scoring 497 runs at 71.00, and Sammar Gajjar smashing 430 runs at 86.00. With the ball, however, is it pacer Ankur Panwar, who has done the heavy lifting, having taken 19 wickets in 8 games.
