Rest of India walked out on the final morning of the Irani Cup needing a mammoth 361 to topple Vidarbha, but the task has only grown tougher with an early setback. Rajat Patidar, unbeaten overnight on 2, couldn’t add much to his tally and was dismissed on 10 in the morning session, leaving Ishan Kishan still holding one end.
Vidarbha had already seized control on Day 4 by building a 361-run lead and striking twice before stumps, and that momentum has carried into the decider. With seven wickets in hand and more than 300 runs still required, Rest of India will need a monumental effort from their middle order to deny Vidarbha what could be their third Irani Cup title in the last decade.
