India U19 star Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s exploits in IPL 2025 and in the tour to England and Australia has paved way for him to be Bihar’s vice-captain for Ranji Trophy 2024/25. On Sunday, a report had claimed that the state did not have enough selectors to name the squad for the upcoming domestic season which is scheduled to commence from October 15 onwards. However, that has now passed and a 15-man squad has been announced.
Suryavanshi to be Bihar’s vice-captain
As per reports, Suravanshi has been named the vice-captain for the opening phase of Ranji Trophy 2025. Bihar will take on Arunachal Pradesh in their opening game on October 15 following which they will face Manipur on October 25. 14-year-old Vaibhav will act as deputy to captain Sakibul Gani.

Although he faced a failure in his last Youth Test after scoring 20 and 0, Suryavanshi slammed a 113-run knock in the 1st Test against Australia. He will now be hoping to boost his credentials further by faring well for Bihar in Ranji Trophy 2025/26.
