Once a rising star of Indian cricket, Deepak Hooda is not struggling a bit. The all-rounder performed poorly for CSK in IPL 2025, and hence was released by the franchise, ahead of the IPL 2026 auction. Now, as per a report in Cricbuzz, all the franchises have been informed about his suspect bowling action, which could considerably reduce his price, or even chances to get sold in the December 16 auction.
Deepak Hooda in suspect bowling action list
Deepak Hooda is a more than decent off-spinner, but was under-used by the CSK even, due to his suspect bowling action in the last edition too. This year, he has come up with a couple of substantial performances in the SMAT — scoring a 90 and 76, but only one wicket has come his way.

That effectively means, if a team is even remotely interested in Hooda, they would have to only consider him as a batter, at the IPL auction 2026. Meanwhile, if he called for suspect action once again, he could be banned from bowling in the IPL. As far as his overall IPL career is concerned, he has 125 matches under his belt, where he has scored 1496 runs, and picked up 10 wickets too.
For the IPL 2026 auction, he is listed in the AL1 all-rounder category, which also has the likes of Venkatesh Iyer, Wanindu Hasaranga, and even Rachin Ravindra. Also, one other player who is in the suspect action list is, Abid Mushtaq of J&K. KL Shrijith is banned from bowling in the IPL. Rishabh Chauhan is also there in the banned list.
