'Throw trophy in dustbin': Ex-Pakistan player's idiotic take on India's Champions Trophy win

Tanveer Ahmed makes idiotic claim on India's Champions Trophy win, saying Jay Shah influenced pitches in Dubai and called the victory "worthless and fake."

India has scripted history on Sunday, winning the ICC Champions Trophy for the third time after beating New Zealand by 4 wickets on Sunday in Dubai. India’s skipper Rohit Sharma has played really well, igniting the chase with some fiery shots. He played a 76 runs and played big role in the match, earning the Player of the Match award. After the win, former Pakistani cricketer Tanveer Ahmed shared his views on his YouTube channel. He accused ICC Chief Jay Shah of making pitches in Dubai that favored India. He also made idiotic claim saying, ” Men In Blue should throw their Champions Trophy 2025 Final victory into the dustbin as it is worthless.”

Tanveer Ahmed’s absurd accusations

Not everyone was pleased with India’s victory. Tanveer pointed out that Jay Shah, who is also a former BCCI Chief, was always present at the Dubai International Stadium for India’s matches. He seemed to forget that ICC’s headquarters is in Dubai, and supporting one’s own nation is common, not a conspiracy.

Miffed by India’s win, Tanveer provocatively suggested that India’s victory was worthless and should be discarded. He said, “This is what Jay Shah always wanted. He wanted Team India to win the Champions Trophy 2025 final. The world was saying India played all their matches at the same venue. Look at today’s pitch. Why didn’t you make it more flat and dry? The BCCI is drama, and their person Jay Shah is ICC chairman.”

Tanveer compared Pakistan’s pitch with Dubai

Tanveer further compared the match conditions, saying, “In Pakistan, there was a proper batting pitch with no help for spinners. If India had played there, they would have done well, but their spinners would dominate. So it was a massive advantage for India. Such victories should be thrown in the dustbin. It’s not a real win. Why didn’t they come to Pakistan?”

He also responded to Gautam Gambhir’s claim that there was no advantage for India, arguing that the conditions in India and Dubai are similar and that other cricket boards should unite against BCCI.
