Former India off-spinner R Ashwin feels that not only the communication needs to be clear from the management, but also the players. Speaking on his Youtube channel Ash Ki Baat, he said, “I hope that the conversation has bee done between the management and Rohit & Virat (about their future).. and if that conversation happened now, why didn’t it happen after their T20I retirement.”

Ashwin added both the batters’ contribution has been massive, but the message needs to be clear. If performance is what they will be judged upon, in the next few matches, they should be intimated about the same. “Why is there no clear communication from the side of the players? If the communication is not clear between the two parties, then it leaves players in a very tender space.”
Just for the record, Virat Kohli has played 302 ODIs, and scored 14181 runs at an average of 58. He has 74 fifties and 51 hundreds. On the other hand, in 273 ODIs, Rohit Sharma has scored 11168 runs at an average of 48. He has 32 tons to his name.
