The stage is set for the T20 World Cup 2026 final as India and New Zealand prepare to face off at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on March 8. While the trophy and bragging rights remain the biggest prize, the winning team will also walk away with a massive financial reward.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced a total prize pool of $13.5 million (over ₹120 crore) for the 2026 edition of the tournament. The amount is a noticeable increase of around 20% from the previous T20 World Cup 2024. India won the previous title and they have a golden chance to become the first team to defend their T20 crown.

T20 World Cup Prize Money for all teams

The team that wins the final in Ahmedabad will receive $3 million, which is roughly ₹27.48 crore. The runners-up will also take home a significant amount, earning $1.6 million (around ₹14.65 crore).

Apart from the finalists, teams that reached the latter stages of the tournament will also receive strong financial rewards. Each of the losing semifinalists will get $790,000 (approximately ₹7.24 crore), while teams that made it to the Super 8 stage will earn $380,000 (around ₹3.48 crore) each.

Even the teams eliminated in the group stage will not go empty-handed. All participating sides that failed to reach the Super 8 stage will still receive $250,000 (about ₹2.29 crore). However, all this falls pale when you notice that the BCCI alone handed a cash prize of ₹125 crore to Team India when they lifted the silverware in Barbados under Rohit Sharma.
