Sri Lanka rope in ex-India coach for T20 World Cup 2026

Vikram Rathour, who was with the Indian team till 2024, has been named Sri Lanka's batting coach ahead of T20 World Cup 2026

Sri Lanka cricket team have appointed former India batting coach Vikram Rathour ahead of the T20 World Cup 2025. Rathour was the batting coach for the Men in Blue during Rahul Dravid’s tenure as head coach and was a part of the T20 World Cup winning Indian team in 2024. SL, who are co-hosts of the marquee event, will kick-start their WC campaign by taking on Ireland on February 8.

Rathour appointed Sri Lanka batting coach before T20 World Cup

As per reports, Sri Lanka have roped in Rathour in the lead up to the T20 World Cup. The former India coach is set to join the side by January 15. Sri Lanka, who unveiled their 15-member squad on Tuesday, will take on Pakistan in a three-match T20I series starting from January 7 in order to ramp up their preparation for the T20 World Cup 2026.
