England all-rounder Brydon Carse might prove to be a blessing in disguise for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in IPL 2025. The right-handed star was picked up by the Orange Army for just Rs 1 cr. Playing just 4 T20Is prior to IND vs ENG 2nd T20I, Carse delivered with both bat and ball for England in Chennai, scoring a quickfire 31 and finishing with a spell of 3/29.
Brydon Carse can be hidden gem for SRH in IPL 2025
Coming in to bat at number 8, Carse was undoubetly better than most of the other England batters in the second T20I. He struck three sixes & one four, and was looking extremely dangerous until a mix-up from Jofra Archer costed his wicket and could have eventually costed England the match as well. He didn’t stop there. The bowling all-rounder got rid of the dangerous Sanju Samson, Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav and Washington Sundar. With these wickets, he put everyone, including his future IPL franchise on notice. Something that SRH surely can’t ignore.

While SRH have homegrown all-round talents like Abhishek Sharma and Nitish Kumar Reddy, they might have found one of the best overseas options in Carse. His ability to deliver with both bat and ball could be blessing in disguise for the franchise. Although Carse has been better in terms of stats in the longest format of the game and in the 50-over format, he has a decent experience in T20s. Additionally, he has also played in SA20, The Hundred and the Vitality Blast.
Carse could very well boost the batting depth of SRH, providing them with another viable batting option down the order. His inclusion in the playing XI could potentially reduce the load on skipper Pat Cummins.
