Gujarat Giants batter Sophie Devine went berserk in the game against Gujarat Giants as she smashed Sneh Rana for a 32-run over. The DC bowler was taken to the cleaners by the Kiwi batter, who hammered for consecutive sixes and reached her half-century in style. It took just 6 deliveries for Devine to power GG from 48/0 to 80/0, making it the highest powerplay total in WPL 2026.
Devine goes berserk
The over started off with Devine scoring two back to back boundaries off Rana, thereby establishing the 50-run partnership with Beth Mooney. The New Zealand cricketer scored four consecutive sixes off the next four deliveries, leaving Delhi Capitals in a heap of misery. DC and Sneh Rana have now etched their names in the wrong side of history, with the bowler recording the most expensive over in WPL history.
Devine did not stop after that onslaught and managed to score 95 runs off 42 deliveries before she was finally dismissed by Nandani Sharma. The Kiwi batter slammed 7 fours and 8 sixes during her stay in the middle, maintaining a strike rate of 226.19. Delhi Capitals won the toss and opted to bowl first in the contest against Gujarat Giants.
