Bowling allrounder Corbin Bosch has been named as the replacement for the injured Anrich Nortje in South Africa’s 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy in Pakistan. The 30-year-old Bosch, who made his ODI debut against Pakistan in December, has earned his place after an impressive campaign in SA20, where he played a pivotal role in MI Cape Town’s championship-winning run.
Corbin Bosch: From SA20 to ICC Champions Trophy
Bosch was in action just last night, helping MI Cape Town secure their first SA20 title by defeating defending champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape (SEC) in the final. His all-round abilities, combined with his performance in domestic cricket, have put him in the spotlight at a crucial time for South African cricket. With fast bowlers Gerald Coetzee, Beuran Hendricks, and Lizaad Williams all recovering from injuries, Bosch’s inclusion was just a matter of time. South Africa also had an option to add Ottneil Baartman but they opted for Bosch, who took 11 wickets at an economy of 8.68 at the SA20.
