Rohit Sharma has started preparing for the upcoming India vs South Africa ODI series. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had announced the squad for the 3-match affair, beginning on November 30 in Ranchi.
Rohit Sharma gears up for IND vs SA ODIs
Considering Rohit hasn’t played any competitive cricket since his 121-run knock against Australia in Sydney, the former India captain has to work extra hard to get match fit.
To achieve that, Rohit has employed the services of the current Mumbai Indians (MI) team physiotherapist, Amit Dubey, who is well known in the cricket community. Amit has been working with Mumbai since December 2022 and also served with the BCCI from 2017 to 2020.
Considering India’s permanent captain, Shubman Gill, won’t be part of the series due to a neck injury, Rohit might have to shoulder extra responsibility. While KL Rahul has been appointed as an interim captain, Rohit, who was India’s ODI skipper from December 2021 to March 2025, will aid Rahul.
In the last ODI series against Australia, both Rohit and Virat Kohli were guiding young captain Gill, and although Rahul is much more experienced, it won’t be a shocker to see both of them assisting and advising him as the senior statesmen of the team.
