India cricket team star Rohit Sharma has joined the Mumbai Indians (MI) camp ahead of IPL 2026 and preparations for the tournament is underway at full swing. The next edition of the cash-rich league will begin from March 28, while five-time champions MI will take on KKR in their tournament opener at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on March 29. Rohit, who was last seen in action during the ODI series against New Zealand in January, will be hoping that he can deliver his best for MI in IPL 2026, as he is the go-to opener for the franchise.
Rohit Sharma begins preparations for IPL 2026
Rohit Sharma was a part of MI’s net session on Monday where he was spotted batting in the nets. In a video uploaded by the franchise on social media platform X, the Indian opener is seen smashing a six off Shardul Thakur in the nets following which he shares a fun banter with the bowler. Rohit will be aiming to improve his numbers in IPL 2026, having scored 418 runs from 15 matches at a poor average of 29.85 in the previous season.
