India women’s cricket team star Renuka Thakur has been ruled out of the one-off Test against Australia. The pacer was last seen in action during the ODI series in Down Under and she played three T20Is and two ODIs before being forced to be ruled out. The one-off Test match between India and Australia is scheduled to begin from March 6 in Perth.

In a statement, the BCCI said that Renuka will not be available for selection for the pick-ball Test against Australia at the WACA stadium in Perth. The board said that the pacer has been advised rest in order to manage her workload better, adding that the BCCI medical team will be monitoring her fitness progress. Kashvee Gautham has been named her replacement.
“To better manage her workload, Renuka has been advised rest and will be unavailable for selection for the pink-ball Test. The BCCI Medical Team will be closely monitoring Renuka’s fitness progress. The Women’s Selection committee has named Kashvee Gautam as her replacement. Kashvee was also part of the ODI squad in the ongoing multi-format series,” the BCCI said.
India, who are the defending ODI World Cup champions, were handed a 0-3 whitewash by Australia. All-in-all, the great Australian team extended their head-to-head record vs India to 50-12 in ODIs. Nothing else would have served as a better farewell for Healy, who preferred batting against Harman’s side. Out of her 3777 career runs, she ended up scoring 971 vs India alone, including 3 tons, at an average of 46.
