Ravindra Jadeja played one game in the Ranji Trophy last season too, where he took 12 wickets against Delhi.

Fresh off winning the Player of the Series award in the recent Tests against the West Indies, Ravindra Jadeja has made himself available for the Ranji Trophy. He is included in Saurashtra’s squad for the next game, which is against Rajat Patidar’s Madhya Pradesh, starting from October 25 in Rajkot.

Jadeja is available since he was dropped from India’s ODI team that is currently in Australia, engaging in a 3-match ODI series. BCCI chief selector Ajit Agarkar chose Axar Patel over Jadeja as India curbed taking extra spinners Down Under. Fascinatingly, Jadeja isn’t selected as captain of Saurashtra, with Jaydev Unadkat continuing at the helm. Jadeja was recently given a spot as India’s vice-captain against the Windies as Rishabh Pant, the original deputy of Shubman Gill, missed out due to injury.

Jadeja eyes IND vs SA Tests

He may be considered a defensive bowler in SENA countries, but Jadeja is simply undroppable in Asia. He has taken his batting to a whole new level, and thus he is massively important for the upcoming Tests against South Africa that start on November 14. To continue with match practice and remain in rhythm, Jadeja eyes the Ranji Trophy. While major names in the Ranji Trophy in the upcoming round will don India A jersey, Jadeja will be one of the major attractions.

He will pair a threatening pair with Dharmendrasinh Jadeja, who is a consistent performer with the ball. In 47 Ranji appearances for Saurashtra overall, he has scored 3,456 runs at an average of 57.60 and taken 208 wickets at 21.25.
