Day 3 of round 2 of the Ranji Trophy 2025-26 season was headlined by stunning double century by Prithvi Shaw.

It was another day of action packed drama in the Ranji Trophy 2025/26/. Prithvi Shaw smashed the 3rd fastest double century in first class cricket in a statement performance for Maharashtra. Jammu & Kashmir clinched a fine victory thanks to an all-round show by Auqib Nabi.

Prithvi Shaw comes all guns blazing

Prithvi Shaw regained his form with class as he brought up his first double hundred for Maharashtra against Chandigarh on Monday. The former U19 star took 141 deliveries to breach the 200-run mark, marking it as the second fastest double-century in the Ranji Trophy history. Shaw stayed unbeaten on 222 runs, having struck 29 fours and 5 sixes. The opener who scored a century on Test debut, who has fallen out of the favour of the national selectors and has been embroiled in controversies over the last year, will be hoping to create maximum impact in the ongoing season.

Ravindra Jadeja goes wicketless

Ravindra Jadeja was colossal in the IND vs WI Test series. The veteran all-rounder scored a century in his only innings and picked up 8 wickets in a fine show. Now with WTC holders South Africa touring, Jadeja aimed to prepare with a Ranji Trophy game. However, it did not yield the desired impact for the left-arm spinner. With the bat he managed just 36 as Saurashtra were bowled out for 260. He also went wicketless in 28 overs as Madhya Pradesh took a lead despite the absence of Rajat Patidar.

Auqib Nabi spins J&K to victory

Auqib Nabi put on an all-round display for the ages for Jammu and Kashmir. The all-rounder slammed a half-century with the bat and added 3 wickets to his name in the first innings. He followed it up with a haul 7/24 for a match haul of 10 wickets to seal an innings-and-41-run victory over Rajasthan.
