Vidarbha won the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 by drawing the final match against Kerala at the VCA Stadium in Jamtha, Nagpur, on Sunday. They were declared champions because they had a bigger lead in the first innings. This is Vidarbha’s 3rd Ranji Trophy win and this came in the last 7 years only, making it more exciting. In the Ranji Trophy, along with the winners, the runner-up and semifinalists also get some prize money from the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India).
Prize Money for Vidarbha
After this remarkable win, Vidarbha will take home Rs. 5 crore, thanks to the prize money increase announced by the BCCI in April 2023 for domestic tournaments. Kerala, finishing as runners-up, will receive Rs. 3 crore.
How much money the semifinalists of Ranji Trophy get?
This year, Ranji Trophy’s powerhouse Mumbai and Gujarat finished the tournament as semifinalists. Mumbai was beaten by Vidarbha and Kerala got a better of Gujarat in the thrilling semifinals. However, the semifinalists won’t go empty handed. Both the teams will be getting Rs. 1 crore in their bag.
