Mumbai Indians (MI) have added an in-form Quinton de Kock for just INR 1 crore ahead of IPL 2026.

Quinton de Kock marked his 100th T20I innings with a performance that was special. He smashed a match-winning century as South Africa clinched the T20I series against the West Indies with a seven-wicket win in Centurion on Thursday. Quinton has been in incredible form ever since he made a U-turn from retirement. He was the highest run-getter at the SA20 2026 with 390 runs as well.

Chasing 222, South Africa made a mockery of the target. De Kock, playing his first home T20I in nearly three years, scored a career-best 115 off 49 balls, reaching his hundred in just 43 deliveries. He hit 10 sixes and six fours and was dismissed only after the game was firmly in South Africa’s control. Ryan Rickelton finished things off with an unbeaten 77 from 36 balls as the hosts completed the chase with 15 balls to spare.

West Indies had done plenty right with the bat. Brandon King and Shimron Hetmyer gave them early momentum before Sherfane Rutherford’s 57 not out off 24 balls lifted them to 221 for 4. They scored 76 runs in the final five overs, a finish that would normally put the chasing side under pressure. Instead, South Africa barely slowed down.

De Kock and Rickelton flatten West Indies attack

De Kock and Rickelton added 162 runs for the second wicket in just 72 balls, a stand that effectively decided the match. Rickelton, batting at No. 3, made the most of his opportunity, bringing up his third T20I fifty off 25 balls and recording his highest score in the format. Rickelton, who was not initially included in South Africa’s T20 World Cup 2026 squad, has been in top form as well, finishing SA20 2026 with 337 runs at 42.12 and 156.02. He will fight for an opening spot with QDK at the Mumbai Indians (MI) as well.

Quinton’s first boundary took him past 12,000 runs in T20 cricket, while his fourth six made him South Africa’s leading run-scorer in the format, overtaking Faf du Plessis. This was also his second T20I hundred at SuperSport Park, the same venue where he had earlier played a key role in South Africa’s record chase of 259 against the West Indies in 2023.
